The application form is for new intake into the various nursing programmes of the nursing college for the 2024/2025 academic session.  The College main campus of the college is located at 42T, Bauchi Ring Road, Dogon Dutse, Jos, Plateau State. Furthermore, the mission of Hill College of Nursing is to produce professional Nurses and Midwifes with critical, and analytical capacities. The college also teach their students evidence-based practical skills which will provide quality health care services for individuals, families and communities within and outside the four walls of hospitals or dispensaries.

What are the Programmes Offered in the Hill College of Nursing Sciences Jos?

The following are the programmes offered;

National Diploma (ND) / Higher National Diploma Nursing

The National Diploma (ND) / Higher National Diploma Nursing is a four (4) years of 8 Semester nursing programme in Hill College of nursing Sciences Jos. The graduates of National Diploma (ND) / Higher National Diploma Nursing programmes undergo a one (1) year Clinical Experience. Lastly, graduates go for their one year compulsory National Youth Service Corp (NYSC) in addition.

Basic Nursing Programme

The Basic Nursing Programme at the Hill College of Nursing Sciences, Jos has the duration of three (3) years. The three years (3) programme comprises of six (6) semester with two semesters in each academic session. More so, graduates of Basic Nursing Programme get registered as Registered Nurse by the Nurse and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN) after their qualifying examinations by the council.

Basic Midwifery Programme

The Basic Midwifery Programme at the Hill College of Nursing Sciences Jos is also a three (3) years programme. Which also comprises of Six (6) semesters with two (2) semester each academic session. Lastly, graduates get registered as Registered Midwifes (RM) by the Nurses and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN) after their final qualifying examinations by the council.

Requirements for Admission into the Hill College of Nursing Sciences Jos

  • First, prospective applicants for all programmes at Hill College of Nursing Sciences, Jos must possess at least five credit passes in O-level result(s) relevant subjects. These relevant subjects must include Mathematics, English Language, Physics, Biology, and Chemistry at a maximum of two sittings. Lastly, applicants for National Diploma (ND) Nursing must upload their O-level on JAMB CAPS.
  • Furthermore, National Diploma (ND) Nursing applicants must have registered and participated for the just concluded JAMB and chose Hill College of Nursing Sciences Jos as first choice institution. Those who did not can also apply but must carry out a change of institution on JAMB portal. Also, applicants must have participated in UTME in the following subjects; Use of English, Biology, Chemistry and Physics. They must also score Hill College of Nursing Sciences Jos cut off mark and above in addition.
  • Applicants for Higher National Diploma Nursing in addition to their O-level requirements must have National Diploma (ND) in General Nursing with a minimum CGPA of 2.0 (pass). The Hill college of Nursing Sciences Jos may conduct a qualified examination for applicants in addition.

  • O-level result (WAEC, NECO, NABTEB or GCE) original and photocopies at maximum of two sittings
  • Certificates of Birth or Age Declaration.

  • Lastly, three (3) coloured passport size photograph.
