This is to inform the general public and suitably qualified candidates that the application form for admission into Rivers State College of Health Science and Management Technology Oro-Owo, Rumueme, Port Harcourt has started. The admission form is for the admission of students for the 2024/2025 academic session.  There are various programmes offered in the college. Here, we have taken time to outline all the programmes, requirements for admission and the duration of studies for each programme. School of Environmental Health Technology

Programmes Duration of Studies O-Level (WAEC, NECO and NABTEB)  Requirements
Environmental Health Technicians (Diploma) 3 Years Five credits passes must include four credit passes in the following subjects; English Language, Biology / Health Science and any two of the following; Mathematics, Geography, Physics, Chemistry and Agricultural Science.  Furthermore, applicants for Direct Entry (200) must be holders of Environmental Health Assistant (EHA). More so, they must have two years post qualification experience in addition to O-level requirements.
Health Promotion and Education (Diploma) 2 Years Five (5) credit passes in the following subjects; Mathematics, English Language, Biology/Health Sciences and 3 of the following; Chemistry, Nutrition, Physics, General Science or integrated Science. More so, those with Teachers Grade II can also apply.

 

College of Health Science

School of Community Health
Programmes Duration of Studies O-Level (WAEC, NECO and NABTEB)  Requirements
Community Health 3 Years Five (5) Credit Passes in relevant subjects at maximum of two sittings.
Community Health (Certificate)  2 Years Three (3) Credit Passes in English Language, Mathematics, Biography and at least pass in chemistry and physics at maximum of two sittings.
Retrainee (In-Service Community Health) At least 5 Credit Passes in relevant subjects at maximum of two sittings.

Certificate in Community Health with a valid Practicing License in addition. More so, they must obtained their clearance from HOD of Community Health before going ahead to purchase the form.
Emergency Medical Technician (Diploma) 3 Years 5 Credit Passes in relevant O-Level subjects at maximum of two sittings.
Pharmaceutical Technology 3 Years 5 Credit Passes in relevant subjects at maximum of two sittings.

 

Medical School Social Work
Programmes Duration of Studies O-Level (WAEC, NECO and NABTEB)  Requirements
Medical Social Work (Diploma) 3 Years 5 Credit Passes in relevant subjects at maximum of two sittings. More so, subjects must include; English Language, Mathematics and three subjects from the following; Civil Education, Economics, Literature, Geography, CRK/Arts, Commerce, Government / History
Social Work (Diploma) 2 Years 5 Credit Passes in relevant subjects at maximum of two sittings. More so, subjects must include; English Language, Mathematics and three subjects from the following; Civil Education, Economics, Literature, Geography, CRK/Arts, Commerce, Government / History

 

 

School of Dental Health Science

Programmes Duration of Studies O-Level (WAEC, NECO and NABTEB)  Requirements
Dental Surgery Technician (Diploma) 3 Years 5 Credit Passes in relevant O-Level subjects at maximum of two sittings.
Anaesthetic Technician 3 Years 5 Credit Passes in relevant O-Level subjects at maximum of two sittings.
Dental Therapy (ND/HND) 4 Years 5 Credit Passes in relevant O-Level subjects at maximum of two sittings.

 

School of Information Management

Programmes Duration of Studies O-Level (WAEC, NECO and NABTEB)  Requirements
Health Information Management (Professional Diploma) 3 Years 5 Credit Passes in relevant subjects at maximum of two sittings. More so, subjects must include; English Language, Mathematics, Biology/Health Science, Physics/Chemistry and credit pass from one of Commerce, Economics, and Government in addition.
Health Information Management / Health Records (Abridgement) 3 Years Candidates must poses a National Certificate in Information Management (NCIM) in addition to entry requirements for Health Information Management.
Hospital / Health Administration (Diploma) 2 Years Applicants must have at least five credit passes in their O-level subjects which must include; Mathematics, English Language, Economics/Government and Biology / Health Science at a Maximum of two sittings.

 

School of Medical Laboratory Science
Programmes Duration of Studies O-Level (WAEC, NECO and NABTEB)  Requirements
Medical Laboratory Technician (Certificate) 3 years 5 Credit Passes in relevant O-Level subjects at maximum of two sittings. More so, it must have been obtained within the period of ten years prior to application for admission.
Medical Laboratory Technician (Abridgment) 2 Years Interested candidates must be holders of Medical Laboratory Assistant Certificate in addition to having the basic requirements for medical Laboratory Technician.

 

School of Public Health Technology

Programmes Duration of Studies O-Level (WAEC, NECO and NABTEB)  Requirements
Public Health Nursing (HND) 2 Years Applicants into this programme in  Rivers State College of Health Science and Management Technology must have;

5 Credit Passes in relevant subjects at maximum of two sittings.

Registered Nursing Certificate (RN)

Registered Midwifery Certificate (RM).

Psychiatric Nurse Certificate (or Accident and Emergency Certificate etc (males only)

One year post qualification experience in addition.
Public Health (Diploma) 2 Years 5 Credit Passes in relevant subjects at maximum of two sittings

 

School of Engineering and Biomedical Technology
Programmes Duration of Studies O-Level (WAEC, NECO and NABTEB)  Requirements
Orthopaedic Cast Technician   5 Credit Passes in relevant subjects at maximum of two sittings
