Bowen School of Nursing Ogbomoso 2024 Admission-How to Apply

The management of Bowen School of Nursing Ogbomoso, Oyo State informs the general public and interested applicants to apply for admission into various programmes of the institutions. Bowen School of Nursing is own by the Baptist Church in Nigeria. The school of Nursing is an agency of the Nigerian Baptist Convention. Thus, it is an integral part of Baptist Medical Centre which is now the University Teaching Hospital Ogbomoso, Oyo State. More so, the school of nursing has been approve by the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NCMN). Programmes offered in Bowen School of Nursing Sciences Ogbomoso

  • National Diploma (ND) / Higher National Diploma Nursing: This programme is a four year non-terminal programme. The programme have been approved by the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE). Furthermore, graduate of the National Diploma (ND) / Higher National Diploma Nursing get registered as Nurses and Midwifes respectively by the Nurses and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN). Lastly, they get their practicing License and proceed for the compulsory one year National Youth Service Corp (NYSC). This programme is managed by the Bowen College of Nursing Sciences Ogbomoso.
  • Basic Nursing Programme
  • Basic Midwifery Programme

The above two programmes in Bowen School of Nursing Sciences Ogbomoso last for the period of three (3) years each. They comprises of three academic sessions of which are further split into six semesters of two semesters in each academic session. Furthermore, the graduate of Basic Nursing programme sit for the Final Examination from the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN). Those who come out successful in the examination are registered as Registered Nurses (RN) by the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN).

More so, the graduates of Basic Midwifery Programme also sit for Final Examination from the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN). Upon their success in the examination get inducted by the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN) as Registered Midwifery.  Graduates of both programmes also get their Practicing license in addition.

Requirements for Admission.

The following are the requirements for admission into Bowen School of Nursing Sciences;

  • Prospective applicants must first of all have at least five credit passes in their O-level relevant subjects. More so, these five subjects must include; English Language, Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics at not more than two sittings. Furthermore, applicants using two sittings must know that they can combine WAEC/WAEC, WAEC/NECO, and NECO/NECO. Those using NABTEB must have all their five credit passes in one sitting in addition.
  • Furthermore, applicants for National Diploma (ND) / Higher National Diploma (HND) Nursing must have registered for the just concluded JAMB. Then chose Bowen School of Nursing as their most preferred institution. Those who did not but have the interest to study in the school must carry out a change of institution on JAMB portal.
  • Also, applicants for National Diploma (ND) / Higher National Diploma (HND) Nursing must have sat for the UTME and score the Bowen School of Nursing cut off mark and above. The school of nursing cut off mark is 160 and above. Lastly, the UTME subjects must include; Use of English, Biology, Physic and Chemistry.
  • Lastly, applicants must be at least seventeen (17) years of age before applying.

How to Apply For Admission In Bowen Schools

Online method of application is use for the registration for admission into Bowen School of Nursing Ogbomoso. Thus, follow the steps below for your application;

  • Applicants must first of all make payment for the non-refundable screening application fee of Bowen School of Nursing. Thus, the payment should be made into the account details to which will be seen when you visit the admission portal. Do not use a third party for your payment in addition.
  • Then click here to visit Bowen School of Nursing Sciences admission application portal to begin your application.
  • Enter the payment details. Then scan and upload the screening fee payment receipt. File for upload must be in Jpeg format and 40 – 120kb size in addition.
  • Then click on the Submit A Default Password will be generated. Keep it safe. It will be use with your email address provided to login in addition.
  • Then create a password to be known by you alone (password must be a minimum of 6 – 130 characters). Enter the OTP that is sent to your email.
  • Scan and upload your recent passport size photograph with white background. Passport size must be 15 – 100kb and Jpeg format in addition.
  • Fields mark with asterisk (*) are important and must be fill properly. Thus, fill your bio-data, formal school attended and details of O-level result(s). More so, UTME score and details is optional.
  • Preview your entries to mark sure they are correct. Note that they will be no change of data after final submission.
  • Then click on the Submit button to finish your application
  • Lastly, Print Examination slip and screening application fee receipt. Note that the screening application fee payment receipt will only be available if it has been verified by the school portal.

Lastly, applicants must note that there shall be entrance examination for all applicants. More so, all applicants will be subjected to write a Computer Based Test (CBT). The Computer Based Test will cover Biology, Mathematics, Physics, chemistry, English language, and Current Affairs. Therefore, the best candidates will be selected through this exams for admission.
