The College of Nursing Adazi-Nnukwu (CONSA) is a medical science higher institution owned by the Catholic Archdiocese of Onitsha. College of Nursing Sciences Adazi-NnukwU is located within the premises of St. Joseph’s Hospital Adazi-Nnukwu, Anambra State. The vision of the school is to train quality / professional nurses which will imbibe good leadership qualities with high sense of responsibilities, good initiative, and further continued interest in self-education and a thirst for knowledge in addition.

PROGRAMMES OFFERED BY COLLEGE OF NURSING ADAZI-NNUKWU ANAMBRA STATE 

The programmes below are run by the College of Nursing Sciences Adazi-Nnukwu, at St.  Joseph’s Hospital Adazi-Nnukwu.

  • BASIC MIDWIFERY PROGRAMME: This programme is designed to train both males and females students on practical midwifery skills. Furthermore, to expose them to knowledge and clinical experience they need to become Registered Midwife (RM). This programme is a three (3) years, six (6) semester programme which has been approved by the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN). The functions of a Registered Midwife (RM) is to provides support, care and advice before, during and after pregnancy, labour and lastly postpartum (after birth) period to women. The functions /care above includes: preventive measure, promotion of normal birth, the detection of complications in both mother and child and lastly the accessing of medical care or other appropriate assistance and the carry out of necessary emergency measures. Registered Midwife (RM) are also responsible to conducts births and provide care for the new born babies and infants. Lastly, they have the duties of providing family planning and preconception care as well as conduct prenatal exams and other tests. Thus, Basic Midwifery programme is available for College of Nursing Adazi-Nnukwu Anambra State 2024 Admission.
  • BASIC NURSING PROGRAMMES: The Basic Nursing Programme is also designed to train both males and females students on practical nursing skills. This will equip them with knowledge and clinical experience they need to become a registered nurse. This programmes also is a three (3) years programme with six (6) semester period. The Basic Nursing programme has been approved by the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN). Therefore, it is available for the College of Nursing Adazi-Nnukwu Anambra State 2024 Admission.
  • POST BASIC NURSING PROGRAMME: The Post Basic Nursing Programme is an ideal programme for already Registered Midwives (males / females) wishing to have double qualification. Here, students are trained to have knowledge of practical nursing skills which will lead them to acquire the knowledge and also gain the clinical experience they need to become a Registered Nurse (RN). Furthermore, this programme is an 18 months with 3 semester programme. The programme has also been approved by the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN).

REQUIREMENTS FOR ADMISSION

The following are the requirements for College of Nursing Adazi-Nnukwu Anambra 2024 Admission.

  • Interested applicants must possess at least five (5) credit passes in their O-level relevant subjects which include English language, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry and physics at not more than two sittings.
  • O-level result such as WAEC and NECO can be combined or WAEC to WAEC and NECO to NECO. NABTEB cannot be combine. Therefore, applicants using NABTEB must get all their five credit passes only at one sitting.
  • Applicants for Post Basic Nursing programme must be a Registered Midwife with current practicing license. With one year practical experience in addition.
  • All applicants will be required to write an Entrance Examination which will be conducted by the management of the college.
  • Interview will be conducted for candidates who came out successful during the entrance examination.
  • Candidates for National Diploma (ND) General Nursing programme must have registered for the 2024 JAMB and have JAMB registration Number. Such applicant must have sat for the UTME and score 100 and above.
  • Furthermore, Awaiting O-level result is not accepted during application or during admission.
  • Testimonial must be obtained from the secondary school you obtained your SSCE (WAEC/NECO).
  • Applicant must have a birth certificate obtained from National Population commission or Government Hospital or a letter of Declaration of Age from court.
  • Candidates must use an active email address and a valid (GSM) phone number for registration.
  • Admission application fee for Basic General Nursing and Basic Midwifery is N15,500 only and N20,500 only for those applying for Post Basic Nursing programme.

  • National Diploma (ND) and Higher National Diploma (HND) General Nursing Programmes. Screening date is on: 25th to 27th September, 2024

Use the steps below for a hitch free application for National Diploma (ND) General Nursing, Basic Nursing, Post Basic Nursing, and Basic Midwifery

  • Firstly, pay the non-refundable fee of N15,500 into the school bank account if you are applying for National Diploma (ND) General Nursing, Basic Nursing, Post Basic Nursing Programmes. Or pay N20,500 if you are applying for Post Basic Nursing Programme.

  • Applicants must pay with their full name well written on the teller. Then indicate the programme you are applying for eg ND Nursing. Note that you can make your payment using bank app or POS machine. Make sure your name is on the receipt and indicate the programme you are applying for in addition.
  • Make sure you upload your bank teller or transaction receipt on the school portal.
  • Go to the examination venue / hall with your proof of payment.
  • The click here to complete your online registration.
  • Then select programme of your choice (eg. ND General Nursing). Then enter your names, email address, phone number and upload a recent passport of yours from your PC.
  • Then click on the CONTINUE Allow to load.
  • Choose a scanned copy of your bank teller or receipt with your name written on it.
  • Then click on UPLOAD TELLER Once your payment has been confirm, an email containing your login details will be sent to you. Then click here  to change your password.
  • Login to complete your registration.
  • Print out the Acknowledgement slip. This will be needed at the examination venue as evidence of registration in addition. It will also contained your application number.
