Due to the large numbers of applicants who seek for admission in the different programmes in the University of Port Harcourt the school uses various means to limit the number of those who can apply. One of such is through aptitude test which is computer base test (CBT). The second method is through different cut off mark from each department. This help prospective applicants to know if admission is guaranteed if they go ahead to apply. The general cut off mark for all Universities across Nigeria is 140. But some top public universities do limit theirs so as to curtail the number of applicants. Below is UNIPORT cut off mark.
UNIPORT CUT OFF MARK FOR FACULTY OF ARTS
Applicants for programmes under this faculty apart making the 140 official JAMB cut off mark should score from 200 and above. Applicants should also have considerable score during the school CBT post UTME. Other consideration is also available for catchment areas.
FACULTY OF SOCIAL SCIENCES
Applicants for programmes in this faculty should score at least 220 and above especially for the department of Economics. And must have score above average during the school CBT post UTME before being considered for admission. Provision is also made for catchment areas.
FACULTY OF SCIENCES
Applicants under this faculty should score from 180 to 220 in their UTME. More so, must score above average during UNIPORT CBT post UTME. Special consideration is also available for catchment areas.
FACULTY OF ENGINEERING
Engineering is a very competitive faculty. Therefore, applicants for this faculty must score from 220 to 250 and above in their UTME to be considered for admission. Furthermore, most score above average during the UNIPORT CBT post UTME. Lastly, Catchment area is also available.
FACULTY OF MANAGEMENT SCIENCES
Candidates for this faculty should at least score from 200 to 220 and above in their UTME to be considered for admission. More so, they must score above average during University of Port Harcourt CBT post UTME. Lastly, Catchment area is also available.
FACULTY OF AGRICULTURE
Applicants for this faculty should have at least 180 to 220 and above in their UTME. Must score above average during UNIPORT CBT post UTME. Lastly, Catchment area is also available.
FACULTY OF PHARMACY UNIVERSITY OF PORT HARCOURT
This a very competitive faculty in any federal public school. Therefore, to be considered for admission candidates should at least scored 250 and above. More so, their performance must be above average during UNIPORT CBT post UTME. Lastly, Catchment area is also available.
FACULTY OF DENTISTRY
This is a medical faculty, as such it is very competitive. Therefore, applicants should aim at 230 to 250 and above in UTME. More so, they should score above average in UNIPORT CBT Post UTME. Lastly, Catchment area is also available.
FACULTY OF LAW
Applicants for law programme most score from 250 and above during their UTME. More so, they must score above average during UNIPORT CBT post UTME to be considered. Lastly, Catchment area is also available.
FACULTY OF BASIC MEDICAL SCIENCES
Applicants for programmes under this faculties must score from 230 to 250 and above in their UTME. Also, they must score above average in UNIPORT CBT post UTME. Finally, Catchment area is also available.
FACULTY OF CLINICAL SCIENCES
This is one of the most competitive faculty. Therefore, applicants must aim at scoring from 250 on their UTME. Furthermore, they must score above average in UNIPORT CBT post UTME. Finally, Catchment area is also available this faculty.
Note: This is not the official UNIPORT cut off mark. This is only put in place to help prospective applicants to get themselves prepared for the task ahead.
