The management of Dr Shehu Sule College of Nursing Sciences Damaturu calls on the general public and interested applicants to apply for admission into the various programmes of the college. The college is located in Damaturu, the capital of Yobe State, Nigeria. More so, the college is owned and managed by the government of Yobe state. What are the Programmes offered in Dr Shehu Sule College of Nursing Sciences?

The following programmes are offered in the college;

  • National Diploma (ND) Nursing Programme
  • School of Nursing – Basic Nursing Programme
  • School of Midwifery – Basic Midwifery Programme
  • Community Nursing Programme
  • Community Midwifery Programme

The above programmes are have been accredited by the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN).  Thus, applicants are free to apply. More so, the National Diploma (ND) Nursing Programme has also been approved by the National Board for Technical Education. Furthermore, applicants for the National Diploma (ND) Nursing Programme in Dr Shehu Sule College of Nursing Sciences must have participate in the just concluded JAMB.

Requirements for Admission

The following are the requirements for admission into school of nursing and midwifery Damaturu;

  • Furthermore, applicants for National Diploma Nursing, Basic Nursing and Basic Midwifery programmes must have a minimum of five (5) Credit passes in O-level (WAEC, NECO or NABTEB) in the following subjects; English Language, Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics.
  • More so, Community Nursing and Community Midwifery applicants must have at least 4 Credit pass in O-level (WAEC, NECO or NABTEB) in the following subjects; English Language, Biology. Then, any other two subjects from Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics
  • Also, candidates for Post basic nursing and post basic Midwifery must have a minimum of five (5) Credit pass in O-level (WAEC, NECO or NABTEB) in the following subjects; English Language, Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics. More so, they must have Practicing License in addition and must be Registered Nurse (RN) or Registered Midwifes (RM).
  • More so, all applicants must take note that their O-level result must not be more than two sittings.
  • Lastly, applicants must know that they will take entrance examination for the selection of the best applicants for admission.
