Is the Nigerian Air Force College of Nursing been Accredited?

The Nigerian Air Force College of Nursing has been granted accreditation by the relevant educational bodies in Nigeria. In 2021, the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) granted approval for the commencement of National Diploma (ND) in Basic Nursing at the Air Force College of Nursing Base in Kaduna. This means that the Air Force College of Nursing will terminate their three (2) Nursing programme and commence the two (2) years National Diploma (ND) in General Nursing.

Furthermore, to seal the approval of the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE), the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) included NAFCON in their 2022 brochure. This gives interested applicants to select NAFCON as their first choice institution during JAMB registration. It is on this background that those seeking for admission in NAFCON from 2021 and beyond must pass through the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) as one of the requirements for admission.

What are the Programmes Offered in Nigeria Air Force College of Nursing?

The Nigerian Air Force College of Nursing (NAFCON) is one of the three (3) schools commissioned in 2019 by the NAF School of Medical Sciences and Aviation Medicine (NAFSMSAM) at the NAF Base in Kaduna. The NAFCON was task with the responsibility of training of nurses and medical technicians in all allied medicine such as medical laboratory, pharmacy and preventive health services. The Nigerian Air Force School also have the responsibilities of organising refresher courses for the various categories of the NAF Medical Services personnel. This is aim at exposing the personnel to global aviation medicine best practices.

Apart from the National Diploma (ND) Nursing, the Nigerian Air Force College of Nursing also offers Higher National Diploma (HND) in general Nursing and Post Basic Midwifery.

What are the Duration of Programme at Nigerian Air Force College of Nursing?

Both National Diploma (ND) and Higher National Diploma (HND) General Nursing last for the period of 18 months.

What are the Requirements for Admission into the Nigerian Air Force College of Nursing?

The following are the requirements which applicants must have before applying for admission into   the Nigerian Air Force College of Nursing for both ND/HND;

Candidate must poses at least five (5) credit passes in their O-level result(s) relevant subjects. The five (5) relevant subjects must include Mathematics, English Language, Physics, Biology and, Chemistry. The above must be obtain at a maximum of two sittings in addition.

Candidates for admission must be at least 16 years of age and 26 years of age at maximum.

Applicants must be Nigerian by birth

Furthermore, applicant must have registered for the just concluded JAMB and chose the Nigerian Air Force College of Nursing as their first choice institution. More so, those who did not chose NAFCON as their first choice institution must carry out a change of institution. What are the Requirements for Admission into the Nigerian Air Force College of Nursing for Post Basic Midwifery?

The following are the requirements which applicants must have before applying for admission into   the Nigerian Air Force College of Nursing for Post Basic Midwifery;

  • Applicants must satisfied the first and second requirements mentioned above
  • Candidate must be a Registered Nurse (RN) with a minimum of six (6) months working experience
  • Candidate must have their current practicing Licence

Forms are obtainable from the Office of the Registrar, Nigerian Air Force College of Nursing Air Force Base Kaduna on the payment of a non-refundable fee of N22,000 only. Then, do the following: Fill the form carefully to avoid mistakes. A completed filled form should be return with the following;
