Superintendent cadre (general Duties or Specialist)
This category is consist of:
- Assistant Superintendent of Narcotics II COMPASS 08: Interested Applicant must possess a minimum of first degree or Higher National Diploma (HND).
- Assistant Superintendent of Narcotics I COMPASS 9: Minimum of BL. L.L.B. B.ENG (COREN is compulsory for B.Eng.) B. PHARM. Etc.
- Deputy Superintendent of Narcotics COMPASS 10: Applicant must have MBBS or DVM to qualify for this position.
Narcotic Agent Cadre
This Category Consist of:
- Chief Narcotic Agent COMPASS 07: The minimum qualification is Nigerian Certificate of Education (NCE), Registered Nurses/Midwifes, Lab Technicians, Pharmacy Technicians and Deputy Technicians or its equivalent from any recognized institution of learning.
- Senior Narcotic Agent COMPASS 06: National Diploma (ND) or its equivalent from any recognized institution.
- Narcotic Agent COMPASS 05: Five Credits in O-Level subjects (SSCE/GCE/NABTEB) including Mathematics and English Language.
Narcotic Assistant Cadre
This Category Consist of:
- Narcotic Assistant I COMPASS 04: Four credit passes in O-Level Subjects (SSCE/GCE/NABTEB) including Mathematics and English Language.
- Narcotic Assistant II COMPASS 03: Three passes in O-Level subjects (SSCE/GCE/NABTEB) including Mathematics and English Language.
- Artisans, Drivers, Gardeners, Mechanics, Cleaners etc.: Evidence of completion of Secondary school or a Trade Test Grade II or III.

BASIC STATUTORY REQUIREMENTS FOR NDLEA RECRUITMENTS
- Applicant must be a Nigerian by birth. Must possess a National Identification Number (NIN). Computer literacy will an added advantage for all applicants.
- All certificates must be verified
- All applicants must be physically fit. They must present a certificate of fitness from government hospital.
- The minimum age for applicants is 20 years and above and more than 35 years of age.
- The height for males is 1.65m and 1.60 for female applicants.
- Medical field applicants must have their current working License while Lawyers must have been called to bar.
- Applicants with university degrees or HND must have completed their one year National Youths service or exemption or exclusion.
- Use of valid and active email address and phone number is compulsory.
- successful applicants will pass through Drug test
