Adamawa State College of Nursing and Midwifery Yola is a state medical institution own by the government of Adamawa state. The school has the responsibilities to train nurses and midwives for healthcare services. GENERAL REQUIREMENTS FOR ADAMAWA STATE COLLEGE OF NURSING SCIENCE 2024 ADMISSION
- Candidates must possess the Senior Secondary School Certificate (WAEC or NECO).
- Candidates must have a minimum of five (5) credits passes in WAEC or NECO subjects which includes: English Language, Mathematics, Biology, Physics and Chemistry at maximum of two sittings.
- Those applying for any one of the Post Basic Programmes must be a qualified registered Midwife or a Mental Health Nurse.
COURSE / PROGRAMMES
The following are the details of basic course programmes in Adamawa State College of nursing.
- Basic Nursing: This programme forms the basis for the practice of nursing and also continuing education in the field of nursing.
- Basic Midwifery: This programme aim is to produce practitioners who are able to make independent judgement, able to manage normal midwifery and also further provide family planning services in addition.
OTHER PROGRAMMES OF ADAMAWA STATE COLLEGE OF NURSING
- Post-Basic Nursing Programme: This programme is put in place for midwives wishing to obtain General Nursing Certificate.
- Adaptation Programme: The adaptation programme is designed for foreign trained nurses and Registered Midwives who undergo BNSC programme. This leads to the award of various professional certificates by the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria.
- Return Basic Nursing Programme: This programme is designed for Licensed Community Nurses wishing to return for the Basic Nursing Programme. They must have a minimum of five credit passes in O-level subjects which include; Mathematics, English Language, chemistry, Biology and Physics. Graduates will to the award of Registered Midwife Certificate by the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigerian on completion.
- Return Basic Midwifery Programme: More so, this programme is design also for Licensed Community Midwives wishing to return for Basic Midwifery Programme. Furthermore, applicants must possess at least five credit passes in their O-level subjects which must include; Mathematics, English Language, Physics, Biology and Chemistry. This programme leads to the award of Registered Nurse Certificate by the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria on completion.
- Community Nursing Programme: For applicants with a minimum of four credit passes in English, Biology and any other two of Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry. The completion of this programme will lead to the award of Licensed Community Nurse by the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria in addition.
- Community Midwifery Programme: This programme is design for candidates who have a minimum of four credit passes in O-level subjects which include: English Language, Biology, and any two of Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry. This programme will lead to the award of Licensed Community Nurse Certificate by the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria.
