The admission is open for the various programmes of the college of health institution. Maurid College of Nursing sciences is a privately owned health college in Akwa Ibom State. It has all necessary accreditation and approved by the National Council of Nursing and Midwifery. The objective of the college of nursing is to providing courses of instruction and training in Nursing, Midwifery and other related medical fields of learning relevant to the medical cum health needs of the people in Akwa Ibom and outside the state.
National Diploma (ND) / Higher National Diploma (HND) Nursing Science
Programmes at Maurid College of Nursing Sciences includes National Diploma (ND) / Higher National Diploma (HND) Nursing Science. This in to a four years non-terminal programme with two years for each. More so, these programmes has been approved by all relevant bodies. These includes; National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) accredited by the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN).
Furthermore, graduates of the National Diploma (ND) / Higher National Diploma (HND) Nursing Science at Maurid college of Nursing proceed for the compulsory one year internship programme. More so, graduates get inducted as Registered Nurses (RN) by Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN). Lastly, HND graduate also proceed to their National Youth Service Corps (NYSC).
Basic General Nursing and Basic Midwifery Programme at Maurid College of Nursing Sciences
The Higher National Diploma (HND) and National Diploma (ND) are found in both General Nursing and Midwifery. More so, the Basic General Nursing programme is designed to train students on basic general nursing skills. On the other Basic Midwifery programme is for the training of students on how to take care of pregnant, delivery and after delivery of women.
Furthermore, both Basic General Nursing and Basic Midwifery programmes in Maurid College of Nursing Sciences have been accredited by the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN). - Candidates for admission into Maurid College of nursing must have a minimum of five (5) credit in their O-level relevant subjects. These subjects which must include English Language, Biology, Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry at not more than two sittings. WAEC and NECO can be combined but NABTEB cannot be combined.
- More, Candidate must have registered 2026 JAMB. Maurid College of Nursing Sciences must be chosen as first choice institution during JAMB registration. Candidates who did not must carry out a change of institution on JAMB portal.
- Candidates must have sat for the 2026 UTME. Thus, they must score from 150 and above. The JAMB/UTME subject combination must include Use of English, Physics, Biology, and Chemistry in addition.
