JOB OBJECTIVE(S) OF HEAD, BUSINESS CONTINUITY MANAGEMENT

The job objectives of the Head, Business Continuity Management (EBCM) is to see to it that a productive venture Business Continuity Management (BCM) governance framework that is consistent with regulatory. Also, ISO22301 essentials and industrial best practices / standards are developed by maintaining and adhering across the Enterprise. Lastly, will provide oversight for Enterprise Business Continuity Management Programme Bank-wide which includes; Head office, Branches and African Subsidiaries.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Below are the duties and responsibilities of Head, Business continuity Management

  • Firstly, developing and reviewing of policies, manual, procedures, and also governance framework on BCM and other areas of policy gaps in line with the Bank’s policy or game plan.
  • Secondly, to lead the BCM planning and recovery strategies across all FirstBank businesses outlet, Branches and sub-saharan African Subsidiaries to implement recovery capabilities. And also the testing processes to maintain group’s readiness to recover business disruptions.
  • More so, to implement Enterprise Business Continuity Management Programme in the Group which also include Subsidiaries in line with the Plan –Do-Check-Act (PCDA) Model and also requirements of ISO22301:20219 and Reporting.
  • Also, to establish and report metrics for measurement of the effectiveness of the BCM Program. Furthermore, to support early and prompt detection, reporting, escalation and remediation of risks and other issues.
  • Responsible for Business Continuity planning and events management, development, and facilitation of enterprise-wide event and exercises, relationship management with external vendors, development of corporate policy, guidelines and finally standards.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDES
  • Monitoring and assessing the effectiveness and maturity of the Business Continuity program. This is to ensure regulatory compliance and continuous improvement.
  • Will be responsible to develop and conduct Business Impact Analysis (BIA) bank-wide and the subsidiaries.
  • The duty of identifying business activities across the organization and to determine mission critical activities bank wide.
  • To quantify the timescale within which the interruption of each business activity becomes unacceptable to the organization because of its disruption to the delivery of products and service (MAO) and also the Minimum Recovery Time Scale (RTO) within which some critical activities must be resumed.
  • To ensuring regular reporting deliverables and also participates in the presentation of results and trend reporting for organization Management Review.
  • Responsible to participate in other inter-departmental projects.
  • Duty of carrying out other adhoc assignments and also provide required support.
JOB REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATIONAL REQUIRMENT

  • Applicant must be a graduate of first degree in applied or social sciences.
  • Also Higher Degree / MBA / Professional certifications in any of the following Business Continuity Institute (BCI), ISO22301 Lead Implementer Certification, Disaster Recovery Institute (DRI), Project Management, and Risk Management etc.

JOB EXPERIENCE

  • Applicants must have at least 12 years of relevant banking experience within Risk Management, Control, Operations or Audit
  • Must have knowledge of Statistics and experience use of statistical methods for data analysis.
  • Applicant must have in-depth knowledge of Business Continuity Management practices and international BCM standards promoted by BCI and DR1 and ISO.
  • Lastly, must have a concrete understanding of Operational risk and resilience, Business Process improvement methods as well as risk related control frameworks and practice (COSO, ISO, Health and Safety, COBIT, etc.
