What are the Educational Programmes Offered in School of Post Basic Ophthalmic Nursing, National Eye Centre Kaduna?
The following Educational Programmes are offered in School of Post Basic Ophthalmic Nursing, National Eye Centre Kaduna;
Ophthalmic Nursing Diploma (OND): The graduates of Ophthalmic Nursing Diploma are offered National Diploma in Ophthalmic. More so, the duration of the Ophthalmic Nursing Diploma is a period of Twelve (12) calendar months of two (2) semesters. This programme starts from November of a particular years and last till the November of the following year. Lastly, the Ophthalmic Nursing programmes involves theoretical and also practical exposure of the students.
Advanced Diploma in Community Ophthalmic (ADCON): This programmes last for a period of nine (9) months
Refresher Course for Practicing Ophthalmic Nurses in the Federation: This programme is designed for practicing Nurses of Ophthalmic in Nigeria. The duration of the Refresher programmes is a period of four (4) weeks.
Primary Eye Care (PEC): The Primary Eye Care (PEC) programme is designed to last for the period of four weeks.
Basic Nursing on Training; This programme is organized for students undergoing Basic Nursing training in various colleges of nursing in Kaduna and the whole of Nigeria. The Basic Nursing Training last for a period of four (4) weeks.
School of Health Technology Training: Just like the Basic Nursing Training programme, the School of Health Technology Training programme is designed for students undergoing studies at various School of Health Technology within the country. This training last for a period of four (4) weeks.
What Are the Requirements for Admission into School Of Post Basic Ophthalmic Nursing, National Eye Centre Kaduna?
Interested applicants for admission into School of Post Basic Ophthalmic Nursing, National Eye Centre Kaduna must have the following before applying;
- Applicants for any one of the programmes above must have at least five credit passes in their O-level relevant subjects which must include Mathematics, Biology, English language, physics and Chemistry. Note that the five credit passes must be obtained at a maximum of two sittings.
- Applicants for Ophthalmic Nursing Diploma (OND), Advanced Diploma in Community Ophthalmic (ADCON) and Primary Eye Care (PEC) must be Registered Nurse/Midwife. More so, applicants must have at least one year of registration / practicing experience.
- Also, candidates must have their Practicing License.
